I'm having exactly the same problem with emacs 20.3 on a
Solaris box. I've looked through the archives and didn't
find help. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

I was using jde (2.1.5). I upgraded today to 2.2.6.2.
After upgrading, the syntax highlighting in jde mode didn't
work correct. Only the comments are hightlighted, the other
keywords not. I used a minimalistic .emacs, no effect. In
java mode the higlighting is ok.
