Is there an easy way to turn off fontification of non-source buffers? I find the pause when switching to a compilation buffer or run buffer (and maybe even when I get prompted for run/debug arguments in the minibuffer?) very distracting. And if fontification isn't the culprit, can I turn off whatever is behind the pause? JDE 2.2.7beta10, Emacs 20.7.1 on Windows 2000 I only recently moved from 2.2.6, where I did not notice this, to 2.2.7beta10, so I can't say whether the behavior is relatively recent or not.
