Agreed. I am for a merger of sorts with the ASF, on a few conditions:

1:      Apache HTTPd and Jabber Protocol, among the many other projects of
the two foundations (JOSS, Jabelin, PHP, Jakarta, etc...) are treated as
complete equals.
2:      The ASF/JSF combination would be renamed to something neutral yet
showing the heritage of both foundations. Yeah, this would require alot
of sacrifice from the ASF members, so dunno how feasible it is...
