I would certainly use expat for client development on a desktop system. However, I would also looking for solutions on a handheld devices, such as J2M2, Symbian, PocketPC or Palm. It could be hard to port expat on those platforms.

If there is any good XML/Jabber parser for handheld devices, I would be delighted.
