It might also help you to study XEPs 115: Entity Capabilities (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0115.html) and/or XEP 30 service discovery (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0030.html). Using the extensions mentioned above, you can discover the clients that can support the "special use case".
