Why stop there? Perhaps some prefs should be readable by other users and
processes.
I'm still waiting for a way to share:
* "This is the address of my channel"
* "You are the xmpp-server that handles my location, this is the
pubsub node to write updates to"
* "These are the set of communities that I let query for my nearby-ness"
