hosting
Hello,
Besides www.lycos.com / www.tripod.com (or a U.K. or India subsidiary
for most of the other newsgroup-members) with already customizable "cgi-bin" -
and on request perhaps even JSPs - you could try http://www.uunet.com (a subsidiary
of www.worldcom.com -->
MCI-WorldCom just went big through the
news).
UUNet offers 2 interesting products
:
a) "UUHost" : you can place your own server(-PC)
in their backbone
b) "UUShared" : you get a virtual server ( =
time-slice of the CPU time of an existing server ) for your own software (e.g.
Apache)
There once was even a marketing-program to reduce
fees by 15 percent when placing a "powered by UUNet" Logo onto the
page(s)

Subject: [jdjlist] JSP/servlet
hosting
I'm looking for a cheap web hosting service that
supports servlets and JSPs. Any suggestions?
I
would love to find something like ReadyHosting.com. They offer domain
name registration and numerous hosting services for $99 per year. I
have a site there, and I am very pleased with their offering, but
unfortunately they don't provide for servlets and JSPs.
Surely there are expensive options out there,
but I am looking to host a site using Java for my own personal
needs. At work Java servlet applications have a pretty big
budget. At home they don't.
Thanks for your suggestions,
Eli Edwards
