Hi Jayaraman,
The maximum limit for the field BLOB in 8i is 4 GB.Since the size of data
is more than this limit you are getting this error. The only way to control
this is that when you get this error catch that exception and prsent in a
format such that field size exceed the limit or catch that exception
without presentation.

Hi,
I am using JDK1.3.1 and Oracle8i and Oracle Thin
Driver(classes12.zip) for connecting to Oracle Database
At the time of inserting Data to the BLOB Field I have
get the following error
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection reset
by peer: JVM_recv in socket input stream read
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection reset
by peer: socket write error
I am trying to insert the data (file content)into the
BLOB field if the size of the data more than 4k then
getting the above error
Can somebody help ..
