Thanks for the bug report, this seems to be a regression in 7u5 caused by 
7143606. I've created a bug to track it:

7184145: (pack200) pack200 --repack throws NullPointerException when JAR file 
specified without path

If you change the command to specify a directory, say ./SwingSet2.jar then it 
will work as before.

That's great. I've confirmed the work-around works for me in 1.8, 1.7 and 
1.6.0_33
