My name is Sam Reid, I am a software engineer at PhET Interactive
Simulations (http://phet.colorado.edu/) at the University of Colorado
Boulder. We publish free, open source educational simulations, most of
which are developed for the Java runtime and delivered with Java Web
Start. We have received many reports from our users that after updating
to Java 1.7.0_25, our simulations fail to launch. The problem is the
one identified in this bug report:

The bug report says the problem is fixed for latest JDK 8 but I am
hoping that a fix will be posted in the Java 1.7.0_xx line as well, and
hopefully in time for school to start in August. I am unable to make
comments in the bug report, even when I am logged in. Is there a way I
can comment in that bug report? Do you think this will get fixed for
the 1.7.0_xx line? If so, when?
