This is a java to cpp converter. It might not be complete gcj but it does not have any real complier links.
This could be used to remove java all together while letting java be used by programers.
Usb key install of OpenOffice cannot really depend on Java being installed. This is one of the advantages of FireFox its still works with or without java.
Improve OpenOffice it would be worth at least testing the database parts build and if they build speed test to see what one is faster ie the java or the translated.
