Michelle Caisse updated JDO-384:
--------------------------------

    Attachment: docs.jar

The attached jar file bundles html pages that result from a fix applied to the
source files (stylesheets and xml files) for the web site. I made the
following types of changes:

1. Allow for a page title to be displayed to the right of the logo at the top
of the page.
2. Allow a <bannertitle> element nested in the <properties> element of the xml
page that can be used to specify a page title.
3. If no <bannertitle> is present, default the banner title to the <title>
element value (same as a portion of the browser window title).
4. Modify some page headings to clarify the distinction between page title and
initial section contents.
5. Change the heading background colors to more closely match the JDO logo
color and avoid a proliferation of colors given the new colored page title.

> Provide a title for each web page on the site that is distinct from the
> initial section heading

> The web page style for the web site generated by Anakia/Velocity
> (http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity/docs/anakia.html) confounds the concepts
> of page title and initial section heading. There is no facility for
> providing a brief title-like description of the contents of the entire page
> (aside from the very ignorable html page title displayed in the browser
> window title bar). In practice, therefore, we are forced to use the initial
> section heading for this purpose. This has a number of consequences:
> There is no graphical distinction between other sections headings and the
> page title.
> There is no way to label the content of the initial section.
> The number of available levels of section headings is effectively reduced
> from 2 to 1 plus a fraction.
> There is a gapingly empty piece of real estate at the top of the page next
> to the logo.
> It looks and feels unbalanced and awkward .
> It bugs me.
