This is a patch to fix bug bugster:6570589 bugzilla:494580. The fix is simply to make proper memory allocation is made before doing a g_object_set() The problem it seems that sparc and sparc compiler is a lot more stringent with memory allocation and alignment hence the bug is only seen on sparc.
