This is a change to the Custom Shortcuts patch, control-center-07-custom-keybinding.diff, to implement the behavior Calum has described in bugster 6471348.
For ease of review, I have appended diffs from the code after that patch is applied. If the change is approved I propose to deliver it by changing the patch control-center-07-custom-keybinding.diff and removing the patch control-center-17-keybinding-fix-edit.diff.
