The attached gdm-08-pam-problem-dialog.diff patch fixes bugzilla.gnome.bug #583856 where PAM messages were not being presented to the user. Refer to the bug for more information.
The attached gdm-09-fbconsole.diff patch makes GDM start fbconsole when the VT_ENABLED ioctl returns 0 to indicate that VT is not being used. This fixes doo bug #10640.
