In order to support VT, the following changes have been made to GDM in the 2.26 branch:
- The gdm-2-26-vt.diff patch simply removes the gdm-05-disable-vt.diff patch which was disabling VT support completely in GDM 2.20. - The gdm-10-flexiserver.diff patch is a minor change to gdmflexiserver so that it pops up an error dialog via zenity if you try to run it when the vtdaemon SMF service is not running, and exits. If gdmflexiserver did not do this, it would leave the display in a messed up state. This ensures that users only can run gdmflexiserver when VT is actually available.
