because Joseki has an old version of ARQ with a bug (or pre-WG decision) 
semantic and Fuseki gets it right :-(

If you think this is a bad choice of semantics, comment to the 
SPARQL-WG.  I'd support a change -- I wanted substitution semantics AKA 
a loop of each possible bindings.  Current join semantics requires the 
variable to be used in a triple pattern to be useful.
