I've just realized that this bug is not related to Jenkins (core) but is related to the GreenBalls plugin (didnt realize that when I edited the issue). The good news is that this issue is already solved in the GreenBalls plugin (version 1.12). So in order to fix this, update your greenballs plugin to the current version.
