Actually, I'm not the much of an IRC expert and so was trying to find out if this 'login name' is actually used for authentication against the IRC server. I was under the impression that it's not (thought that 'nickname' served that purpose), but it seems that I could be wrong. Unfortunately, the available documentation for IRC is not very conclusive in that respect (or I'm just to stupid to understand it). I'll look into making the login name configurable.
