Richard Mortimer commented on JENKINS-15465 RunList returning null from its elements in 1.485 @kohsuke the BuildReferenceMapAdapter does silently paper over the cracks and stops the /rssAll URL from falling over NPEs but all of the build records are gone after forcing an OOM. The size of the RSS drops from 256229 to 700 bytes. There is no suggestion that anything is wrong in the logs so that could potentially mask other real problems in the future. I can't think of any easy way round it to get the right balance between safety and diagnosablity
