I don't believe the automatic installation via this Git plugin works. At least not in any way I could figure out.
Given an archive of a git installation with standard subdirectories:
bin
lib
lib64
libexec
share
No matter what combination of options I tried, it could never find the Git binary even though it was properly extracted. Leaving the default values of an automatic installation, uses the "Name" field as the binary. So filling in the path to binary (which by the way is hidden as soon as you select "Install automatically"), just adds subdirs to the extract path.
