Description:

I'm currently looking for an automated way to test mobile websites using the Android Emulator for my job. We need the ability to start the Emulator, and then automate opening the browser to a specific URL and testing the website according to a test script of user we'd like to write. (This is why Exercise monkey is no good, we need to be able to write full functionality tests for each site.) We need to be able to do this on multiple AVDs at once so that we can adequately test multiple Android versions to ensure there are no quirks in specific versions of the OS. It would be ideal if this had some sort of start/stop/pause controls too just to help.

The reason for specifically using the Emulator is that as both Device Makers and Carriers customize the OS well beyond Google's Base standard it becomes impossible to say we've truly tested or developed for "Android as a whole." This presents a problem, but as the emulator runs the most clean setup with only the official Google build of Android it enables us to say we've developed and tested suitably for the Android platform without having to go out and test on EVERY device imaginable on every carrier imaginable.

This Android Emulator plugin already seems to do most of what we need. I just need a way to launch multiple AVDs at the same time and to get them to execute some kind of user action script. Any advice is greatly appreciated as we may try to write this feature ourselves (and submit a patch for it) if this is something no one else has any interest in.
