I have it set to merge into 'master' before build. The issue is that 'master' doesn't appear to get updated from origin. Take this scenario:

  • master is at version 1
  • pull request is opened and jenkins merges into master v1 and then builds
  • pull request is merged and master is now v2
  • new pull request is opened, jenkins hasn't updated master to v2 and so merges into v1 and builds

Looking through the code, at no point is a `git pull` or `git fetch/merge` done on master (or whatever the specified merge branch is) before merging the pull request changes.
