For all users? Some? Console output is affected as well? The default build output as well, or only 'deploy'? (which plugin is that?) Of all projects? Only when triggered manually (by a logged in user), or also when triggered by timer, SCM change, ...? If possible, try to create dummy projects to test these. Does downgrade to 1.575 resolve the problem? Or which version were you upgrading from? What's your security realm? LDAP? AD? Jenkins own user database? Others? Or no user authentication at all? If provided by a plugin, what is its version? Do affected users have uppercase letters in their name? Or all lowercase?
