I am able to verify that the steps from last comment is correct. I do see your changes in Eclipse Git history at
JENKINS-27222branch.Also, I also see unit test failure on my windows using java 7 and 8, BUT passes at my suse linux.
Tests in error:

I loaded the release.hpi built by both and windows and linux with the same result
