Mr. Rosenbaum:

Goody! A legitimate opportunity to display personal bias! A sports car, to
me, is a four-wheeled vehicle (Moggie trikes might be an exception) whose
design, in the interests of achieving outstanding over-the-road performance-
and the perception of that performance by the driver, as well as the casual
onlooker- compromises other vehicular benchmarks, such as silence,
convenience, negligent ease of operation and ride comfort. A real sports
car, while it may be safe, strong, somewhat comfortable, and even elegant ,
always demands a driver's full attention, exceeds the mean in several
critical standards of performance, and rarely ('Q' cars excepted)
disguises its true purpose. The very best summation of that purpose is the
old MG slogan- "Safety Fast!"

How am I doing, colleagues?

Ray Whitley, C-V8 II (which can easily become a largish sports car, but was
not intended as one, really, IMHO)
