I believe the Lancia is the first "unibody" but the Traction Avant Citroen 1934-1957 was the first popular unibody. The unit-construction type body is in fact of said to be an American method, but was ignored by the Americans in cars till after WWII. The Hudson is a large unibody car and does pre date the 1958 Lincoln/Thunderbirds unibody cars, the first of the big American car companies to go unibody. The Jensen Healey and GT are the only unibody Jensens but Jensen was always know for its advanced designs like the 541 with 4 wheel disc breaks and fiberglass body the 541 set a record time for a London to Paris run. The FF was on the list for car of the century, the Jensen Healey was an 2 year in a row SCCA champion and the 1934 Jensen White lady was the first custom car using a the flathead Ford V8. John in Toronto JH mark 1 and 2 Age is a state of mind.
