Hi All, can anybody in tell me if the good old Colortune device is still
availlable in Australia? I'm located in NZ and the local importer claims it
is no longer availlable (personally I smell a rat).

Color Tune is a neat idea, I have used it for years in many cars.
It consists of a sparkplug with a clear insulator which allows you to see
the actual combustion in each cylinder (one at a time). There is a color
chart provided to determine correct mixture. Combustion ranges from yellow
(rich) to light blue (lean). You simply adjust each carb to get the correct
color in each cylinder.
A great feature of this system is that you can see the mixture change as you
rev. the engine. A properly running engine with no load will have rich blue
combustion at idle and go to dark yellow (rich) on acceleration and return
to blue at any steady RPM.
You can use this tool to diagnose many problems, you are actually looking at
the combustion.
