During W.W.II, I was in the Navy and my father was in the US
Army Air Force. He told me about the water injection that
was in the P51 fighter. He said it was for emergency use
only but gave the pilot a tremendous RPM and power boost for
a short time. After that, he said, the engine was
trashed....
I just thought I'd throw that into the pot....
