Just got my annual Vehicle Tax Statement from the City-County Tax
Collector...They have valued my Jensen-Healey at $14,000 USD !!

I had kept the bill from last year where they valued the car at $3,800. I
called the Tax office and explained this to them. Their explanation is that
the North Carolina Dept. of Motor Vehicles did not have Jensen-Healeys
listed in their computer when I purchased the car, so my tax bill shows just
"Jensen"; I'm being taxed on an Interceptor's value, as that is what comes
up on the system. The Tax office said that I had to come down to the
government plaza and prove to them that I actually owned a J-H, not an
Interceptor, but I have to pay the bill first and then they'll refund the
difference.

That will only take care of this year - to correct this going forward, I
have to go back to DMV and explain to the State that they registered my car
incorrectly two years ago and try to get them to put J-H's into their data
banks....otherwise, I'll have to take the car to the Tax office every year,
with copies of books or magazines showing & identifying both J-H's and
Interceptors, to prove to the government that my car is NOT an Interceptor
worth thousands more.

Anybody want to buy a Jensen for under tax value?? :)

Sigh...
