Well it seems it is rather controversial so I'll dive in feet first here :)
Basically it's your car (and it's only a car no matter how desirable). It seems
you bought it as a basket case and possibly saved it from the scrap yard anyway.
Not only that but you have no intention (at the moment anyway) of selling it. So
do what you like...after all you're only talking about putting in another engine
and gear box. No big deal. What tends to be forgotten is that the cost of
overhauling the original engine is a little more than the pocket change it might
be for some others but is that any reason why we can't enjoy a car we've always
desired?
