Aaron -
I'm gentle with mine as well, but more out of respect for an aging car (and
for my limited funds for repairs!) than concern the car won't like the
speed. I'm also very selective about who is allowed to drive it. The only
one who has carte blanc to use it is my friend Paula, who is an excellent
driver and one of the few people who likes the Jensen as much as I do.
She's actually used it as a daily driver more than I have, as I typically
drive it for fun stuff not for the daily slog to & from work.
However, my shift point does tend more to the 5000 - 6000 range. Most
motoring is limited to in-town stuff in the 45-60 mph range. For high
speed, long distance motoring I actually prefer my Volvo - 3000 rmp at 75
mph, safe, quiet, air conditioned and great CD player... am I getting old?
Is owning two such different cars a sign of the onset of schizophrenia???

I'd like to know if I'm the only man around who drives his J-H as though it
would explode, if I got it past 5K in all but 4th gear? Responses please?
