The latest version of Jess, the Java Expert System Shell, is available
for download at the usual location:
http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov/jess/
Jess 4.3 is a bug-fix release; several of the bugs addressed relate to
the proper handling of Java 'null' and Jess 'nil'. Jess 4.3 also
compiles rules significantly faster than previous versions (as much as
twice as fast.)
Jess 4.3 is very likely to be the last Java 1.0 compatible release of
Jess. An alpha version of Jess 5.0, which will be for Java 1.1 and up
only, should be released within a few days.
Also new is the Jess web site, which has been completely reworked and
looks quite nice (if I do say so myself.) Problem reports on the web
site itself are welcome.
