Hi all,

I was waiting for our friend Thomas Barnekow to chime in on this
thread; maybe he's on vacation! In any event, he's developed a really
lovely system for using Jess's backwards-chaining facilities to
trigger database queries. The basic framework has existed for some
time, but he's currently doing more work on it. I've been using it and
offering suggestions, too.

To read some background on this, check out the thread entitled
"Persistent Facts" from October of last year on this list (see the
archive at http://www.mail-archive.com/jess-users@sandia.gov.) I don't
recall the exact date but it wasn't long after this discussion that
Thomas shared his first version with me.

Thomas is interested in making his code available to the community,
but he still has to work out the specifics with his employer, I
believe. Perhaps he can enlighten us further as to the state of things.
