I'm gratefull for the decisions made concering JDK1.2. Could I ask you to open a dialog on creating a roadmap for Jess going forward? My perspective is from the commercial situation that Richard mentioned. The company trys to be very conciencious in their build versus buy decisions and we have a half dozen or so vendor products of which Jess seems destined to become the latest member. Because the performance and new specificiations are so critical, our experience is that vendors are moving forward extremely fast. Version hell is when they are cross-related and out of synch - Product X requires Product Y version 6 and product Z version 7. Product Z also requires Product Y but is only certified for version 5. Naturally they need different JDK's...... Upgrades have to be coordinated, and it really helps see a least a sketch of a product plan. My personal opinion and prejudice is towards keeping up with the latest as, frankly, selling three year old technology is as difficult as selling a three year old book about using the internet. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send the words 'unsubscribe jess-users [EMAIL PROTECTED]' in the BODY of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], NOT to the list (use your own address!)
