Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this error either in Jess6.1a4 or in
my working copy.

The stack traces have this little bit of extra stuff on top which
suggests to me that you're running from Java or using a modified
version of Jess. If so, the problem may lie in the modifications or
Java code. Can you get this exception using just an unmodified, stock
Jess distribution? If not, then can you show me the minimum amount of
additional Java code that's required to trigger it?
