Dear Friend, The Majesty and Supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ can never be denied by the angels in heaven or the demons and hell, but we who are on the earth have been given free will to either believe and accept Christ or not believe and reject Christ. As beings created in the image of God, we have been given a privilege that has not been seen in the entire universe. The Lord loved us so much that He said "I will give man My image and likeness and will give to him dominion over all the earth." He who gave us life and breath will not force Himself upon us, but gives us the choice to either live for Him or live for ourselves. We must wake-up and realize that it is God who created us and not we ourselves and we should be quick to give Him thanks and do our best to live fully for the Lord and His eternal purposes. He loves us and died for our sins and now whosoever accepts Him as Lord and Savior is promised an Eternity that is forever secured in Heaven above. (Matthew 28:2-7) (Luke 8:27-39) (Genesis 1:26-28) (1 Peter 1:21-23) I hope you are encouraged by today's message to trust Jesus for yourself if you have never done so before and see the goodness that He bestows to all who simply accept Him as Lord and Savior. HAVE YOU TASTED JESUS? At the University of Chicago Divinity School each year they have what is called "Baptist Day". It is a day when all the Baptists in the area are invited to the school because they want the Baptist dollars to keep coming in. On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every "Baptist Day" the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education center. One year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr. Tillich spoke for two and one-half hours proving that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book. He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact, never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions. After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium. "Docta Tillich, I got one question," he said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it. "Docta Tillich..." Crunch, Munch... "My question is a simple question," Crunch, Munch... "Now I ain't never read them books you read..." Crunch, Munch... "and I can't recite the Scriptures in the original Greek..." Crunch, Munch... "I don't know nothin' about Niebuhr and Heidegger..." Crunch, Munch... He finished the apple. "All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate -- was it bitter or sweet?" Dr. Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: "I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven't tasted your apple." The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly, "Neither have you tasted my Jesus." The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The auditorium erupted with applause and cheers. Dr. Tillich thanked his audience and promptly left the platform. Have you tasted Jesus? In Psalms 34:8 we read: Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the resurrection that your faith in Him brings. Author Unknown Read and meditate on these scriptures: Psalm 145:1-5 "I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Thy works to another, and shall declare Thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honour of Thy majesty, and of Thy wondrous works." 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God." John 6:35-37 "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen Me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out." Revelation 1:5-6 "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
