Hello Jetspeed group, Great work as usual. I have the following suggestions. I assume you might have these already in your future milestones & releases.
1) when custimizing the portal page by selecting the portlets I want (as a user), I do not have an option to select which pane I want the portal to be in. currently, the layout manager lays out the portlets in a sequence. in other words, if there are 3 panes in the screen, I want the portlet I select to be on a specified pane. 2) Automatic generation of portlets (drag & drop) how ?.. well, we could create the code that is required for the portlet automatically generated by providing the user to select and frame the content. for eg.. pass through html, parsed html, jdbc sql statement etc.. well, what it means is, the first 2 html stuff, I should be able to enter a valid URL for eg.. http://www.weather.com/index.html, starting html block for eg.. <body> and an end html block for eg. </body>. etc.. and the portlet should get generated for the content taken from the site. (I can get more details on this if you need it. please let me know). 3) Support for LDAP. user authentication. for eg.. netscape Directory server etc.. 4) Be able to easily create a portlet with contents received as a SOAP client. ie.. as a user (admin), I should be able to create portlets merely by specifiying the URL (where the webservice WML is located), and parsing the WML, I should easily be able to get the input and output params and match them with the user input from the portal into the portlet. (well, again, if interested, I could give you an eloborate thoughts on this). 5)An Admin Console. well, these are my suggestions and thoughts as of now. please let me know what I can do.
