You can still use JSP based portlets when Velocity is the default template engine. However, you cannot mix Velocity and JSP when it comes to layouts and navigation. This wouldn't even make sense. It's either one or the other. Last time I checked JSP support worked fine in Jetspeed. It is our goal to support both. Please let us know if it isn't so. Best regards, Mark C.
