Good day,

Now you can run,

maven -o war:install

and,

maven -o j2:QuickStart to deploy your portal.

or,

maven -o j2:nodbQuickStart to deploy without creating the database
(use existing database)

See the plugin docs for the other commands,
http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-2/j2-maven-plugin.html

As for eclipse, there is no .classpath or .project file that is
generated. You are free to create your own. If you feel you are going
to do many modification to the original portal you are better off
working directly with the jetspeed source.

I have generated a default portal for the purpose of developing a custom
portal in c:\myportal using j2:portal.genapp maven goal. It has
generated/copied lot of files in target subfolder. Now what are the
steps to develop a custom portal using an ide say eclipse and deploy it
in tomcat5.
