First of all, thank you for your reply. I had thought the logging issue was
seperate, but it was not. I will respond to that thread and indicate it is a
closed issue. Now, back to this:
To answer your questions:
1- you are trying to upgrade a jetspeed deployment. ( you didn't tell us
about the two versions involded in this)
Answer:
Version 2.0 to 2.1.3. Yes, I upgraded the database using the guide that
was
provided via the website and the schema XML files that were provided. I
use a
Postgresql database.
2- You were getting a problem related to entity access with a message
like this.
Failed to find the Entity Access on portlet initialization
Where is this message logged ? What versions of tomcat ?
Answer:
This message is logged to /var/log/tomcat/current and when I try to
access my
website for the first time. The stack trace provided earlier is the
trace related to
the entity access issue.
Tomcat version:
3- You were not getting logs where you were expecting them, but you
figured this out because of the appenders. However, this didn't resolve
the original issue. Right?
Answer: Issue is resolved
4- Jetspeed starts properly but with some error. did you install jetspeed
from source, binary ... etc. Is jetspeed starting at all?
Answer:
Jetspeed is installed from the binary and it appears to start properly,
however, I do see continual logs stating the following:
"Could not yet start portlet application at: <porlet name>. Starting
back ground thread to
start when the portal comes online."
Where portlet name is the name of the application trying to start.
To add this this discussion, there are no errors prior to accessing the site
for the first
time.
