If you are going to invest the time to learn Jetspeed, don't start with 2.1.3.

Use the current version in the 2.2.x series.

2.1.3 is dead and a little mixed up with releases that have been rereleased. 2.1.4 is the final 2.1.x version as nearly as I can tell.

I am still stuck on 2.1.3. It works OK but we know that we will have to move eventually.

Subject: Deploy a new portlet (then set as default)

Hi everyone,

I installed Jetspeed 2.1.3 in my Fedora machine. I followed the installation
procedure and tested the installation by accessing
http://localhost:8080/jetspeed/portal, it shows the Jetspeed welcome page.
Now I tried to deploy another portlet (.war) in
/webapps/jetspeed/WEB-INF/deploy folder. When I start Jetspeed again and
point to the same url, the welcome page gets displayed. I want the new
portlet to be displayed instead. Any ideas? Are there any Jetspeed config
files I need to edit?

Thanks,
Leo
