No load balancer or reverse proxy is involved here.
Also to check that server is not out or basically out of disk space.
The are some gigabyte free so that shouldn't be an issue.
When logged in as same user as jetty runs, what is "unlimit -a"
output. This so can see number of permitted file handles, processes etc.
ulimit -a print the following:

scheduling priority (-e) 0
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
pending signals (-i) 31815
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 64
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited

POSIX message queues (bytes, -q) 819200
real-time priority (-r) 0
stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) 31815
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
file locks (-x) unlimited
These just to rule out anything environmental given the current mystery.
