Dr. Riek Machar is Full of Milk of Human Kindness BY: GatCharwearbol, USA
AUG. 14/2011, SSN; By now the entire circle of south Sudan should know Dr. Riek Machar's attitude by heart. It should be clear to everyone that the man is full of milk of human kindness and that is what the apology he communicated to Bor Community tells us. We know that it is not Dr. Riek Machar that has committed crimes alone during our struggle. There are people out there within our communities that have done tremendous damages to our people in terms of taking human life, destroying properties, and many more. These people are out there within us moving freely thinking that they never done anything wrong. They do not know it because they do not possess any milk of human kindness. Rightfully so, the community of Bor was thoroughly cleaned up during those days of 1991 under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon. Did Dr. Machar do it himself? Categorically no! Was it done per his directive? Yes and No. Because Dr. Machar was the top banana at that point in time, there is no doubt that the crime was per his directive because the men and women who did the killing acted on his behalf. In accordance with the normal thinking, whatever the ordinary people do is blamed on the person in charge because he or she is responsible to eliminate or reduce the crimes within his areas of jurisdiction. Thus, yes it is per his directive. But if we go deeply into how it actually happened, it may not be per his directive because it was alleged that the men and women who did the destruction and manslaughtering were the White Army. These men do not need directive from anyone associated with government. They take their act on their own. For example, cattle rustling that have over time killed countless people are not per Dr. Machar. It is something that white army does independently. Under normal circumstances, people of Dr. Machar's like who accept their wrongdoings are always forgiven because acknowledging that you have done wrong to someone is a bold thing for a man do admit. By acknowledging your mistake, this acknowledgment always has tendency to neutralize the ill feelings and grudges that reside inside the person you have wronged. And usually the person you have wronged will forgive you unconditionally. This is the beauty of knowing the difference between right and wrong. Apparently, some people do not know the difference between these two elements and are always adamant and refuse to admit their mistake or wrongdoing. Evidently, only people who possess the milk of human kindness can apology for their mistake. In that case, I would like to shout kudos to Dr. Machar and to those Bor community members who have wholeheartedly forgiven him -- God be with them. To those who do not want to forgive at any point in time, God be with you too.
