Pagan Amum: peaceful co-existence with Sudan is the goal

The Caretaker Minister of Peace, Pagan Amum, has said that South Sudan
will work hard to build good relations with Sudan for the sake of
mutual coexistence.


Addressing a gathering at Warawar Peace Centre in Northern Bahr el
Ghazal, Pagan Amum Okiech, said that it is the policy of the SPLM and
the government of South Sudan to live peacefully with its neighboring
regions of Kordofan and Darfur.


In a related development, the Misseriya in Northern Bahr el Ghazal
State said they will not fight the Dinka Malual.

Speaking to Radio Miraya, the Head of the Misseriya Peace Committee at
Warawar Peace Center, Ibrahim Mareg, said that they have no animosity
toward South Sudan.

Paramount Chief of the Dinka Malual, Arol Kuol Makuach, pointed out
that his tribe and the Misseriya have had a peace deal in place since
1991.
