I don't know how, but you could start by going to the
http://yourserver/admin/adm/test.php and checking if you had session support enabled in the first place.

I've done an install from current freebsd 5.2.1 ports and after running through the config.php, I check the box at the bottom and click "save" and it loads the auth.php but spits out this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_start() in /usr/local/share/jffnms/htdocs/auth.php on line 35
any ideas? Can't find anything specifically about this issue so hopefully someone has some quick and dirty answers! :)
