Hi So I've made a couple of changes which seem to have helped. Under Interface Types -> APC UPS Battery Temperature -> Fields, I've changed the Internal Name from battery_temp to temperature, and under Poller Items, I've changed the APC UPS Battery Temperature item Name to say temperature, and now the graphs seem to be working, yet when I run a manual discovery on a UPS the temperature interface shows up with a funny name (which may be the name of the physical interface of the Ethernet card I think...any idea why?) Also, I need to create a poller for battery capacity, yet I'm not sure what I should use for Internal Name under Interface Type, and also under the poller item, what should the Name be? And also under graph types, what should I enter for Graph1...there is no graph for capacity...would something else work there? Thanks

So I've created the Poller Item with the Description "APC UPS Battery Temperature", Name "battery_temp", Poller Command "snmp_counter" and Parameters ".1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.2.2.0". I've also created the Interface Type with Description "APC UPS", Autodiscovery Function "snmp_interfaces", Autodiscovery Parameters "enterprises.318", Autodiscovery Default Poller "APC UPS Temperature", Default Graph "Battery Temperature". For the Fields part of the new interface I've copied all the fields from the Cisco Temperature interface type, except that for the Temperature Field, I changed the Internal Name to say "battery_temp"...is that correct? As my graph never gets created by the poller process. This is where I'm not sure how things are all tied together...am I at least on the right track? I've also got a Poller/Backend Group called "APC UPS Temperature" with Interface Type "APC UPS" and under the View button I've got in position 10 "APC UPS Battery Temperature" with the Backend "Temporal Buffer" and then I've got in position 20 under Poller "No Poller" and for the backend "RRDTool All DSs". And finally, I've got a Graph Type called "Battery Temperature" with Interface Type set to "APC UPS" and for Graph1 I've got "temperature"...should that say "battery_temp"? I've tried to read through the documentation link which Javier provided to someone else with a similar problem, but the doc is incomplete and does not clearly describe what is going on here. Please, if anyone can help with some steps or clearer docs it would be greatly appreciated. As you can see, I'm confused and in need of help... :-) Thanks very much. -- Jason ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
