  Now that the code is in SVN, some changes can be made. The question is
of course, what changes?

I did have some code around somewhere that read logfiles and then did 
matches based upon things it found in the logfile. It was a bit like the
syslog parser only it worked on files it could find.

What do people think of that idea?  I liked it because you didn't need
to fiddle with the syslog setup and you don't fill your events database
table with rubbish.  It would mean the jffnms user (or whoever runs
the cron job) needs to be able to read the files.
