completely reinstalled the server 
its exactly the same 
the snmp portion works well but nmap does not add the results to the manual 
discovery page at all 

the temp log file shows me that nmap is working

I have used jffnms_0.8.3_5  from the freebsd port system
as well as jffnms_0.8.4 and 0.8.5rc1

What ever it is thats causing the issue must be a nasty conflict between 
something installed on the server and the code, maybe some off updated version 
of php, or maybe the way that nmap is outputting the info?
