Yes, I believe that is the only way to workaround we can take at the moment. More problematic one is the case that the directory needs to be persistent between reboots and/or crashes, so that tmpfs is not an option. Well, mounting some other filesystem through a loop (on the file which is static on JFS) might be technically valid workaround, but that's a gross mess...
